40K APOCALYPSE and why it rocks

Apocalypse (Games Workshop’s upcoming expansion for their Warhammer 40K Miniatures Game) news has been making its way around the net for months now and we’ve had a preview copy of the book in the Toy Soldier for a couple of weeks. The response from fans has been stronger than anything concerning GW for quite some time. The feedback: Apocalypse makes 40K fun again.

Over the past several years the customer base has aged and diminished for 40K. There’s numerous reasons why (kids are spending more time playing games online and are spending more money at a younger age on technology and clothing etc) but Games Workshop was also to blame. New releases for 40K have been lackluster over the last several years but even more damaging than that is the amount of energy that has been spent on the competitive aspects of the hobby.

Apocalypse is outstanding because it reverses this trend. It’s provides something new and cool for every army. It swings the focus away from 1v1 tournament play and back to the hobby of 40K. Apocalypse has tons to offer for those who want: to create armies with a story, to build or paint huge centerpieces (that you can actually use in the game!) or just have fun playing with their friends. And for those who are most concerned about competitive play? Apocalypse smooths out score keeping and arguably makes 40K deeper in tactics and strategy!

If you are at all intrigued - check out our copy of Apocalypse the next chance you get!
